How Do I Understand The Quality Score Of My Keywords?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in about two minutes. The question I've got in front of me here today is how do I understand the quality score of my keywords?
So I'm inside of a demo account demo campaign, and I've gone to the search keywords tab, and I've made sure that I have these four columns pulled up the quality score, expected, CTR landing, page experience, and ad relevance.
The latter three are the three components that make up a quality score. And you could see as I'm hovering over the titles here, Google ads give, uh, gives me a little bit of context, a little bit of explanation as to what these things are.
There's also, the helpful learn more link at the bottom. So definitely playing information available at your fingertips. If you want to understand what these things are.
And if this demo campaign had more data, you would be seen numbers from one, from one to 10 in here in the table.
Uh, and those ratings would also give me an idea of what Google thinks about the quality score of my keyword.
And then again, you know, that's going to be based on these three components here. Um, but yeah, the question is about understanding quality score.
I think hovering over each one of these columns is a great way to,  kind of educate yourself a bit on what the definitions are and what Google is evaluating when it comes to giving you a quality score rating.

What Is The Difference Between A Search Campaign And A Display Campaign?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in about two minutes. The question I've got right now is what is the difference between a search campaign and a display campaign?
So, I'm going to explain the difference with some examples. I'm going to first click over. And if this wasn't already clear, this is for Google ads, right?
This question pertains to the Google ads platform. I'm going to click over to this tab and I've got, I've conducted a search for digital marketing help which is obviously related to the hop service, right?
And you can see all these results showed up, including some ads at the top. And this is, this is the type of ad that's basically produced that you can create when you do a Google search campaign.
So, the goal of these campaigns is to appear for people that are demonstrating intent for something. So, I searched for digital marketing help.
I'm clearly in the market for digital marketing help. So, it makes sense for things like Fiverr and Upwork to bid in the auction in order to, you know, show an impression and potentially when my click, so paid search advertising very focused on, you know, reaching people that are in the market for something they're searching very specific things they're in research mode and potentially buy mode.
So that's paid search in a nutshell, there's so much more to it, but that's, that's, you know, this is an example of the kinds of ads that you would produce if you did a paid search campaign.
And in the overall strategy, I'm going to click over to this other tab, and this is a display campaign or display ad right here.
That's part of a display campaign. So, I'm on a different site, esquire.com. I'm not on the Google search engine. And the idea is, you know, I could just be, you know, reading an article, you know, looking at other contents.
But this ad kind of a display ad is sort of intercepting me getting in front of me, maybe based on the theme of the content that I'm reading or it, maybe it's a retargeting ad and is serving me something based on my previous, you know, website visits.
So, it's not, it's not like paid search where I'm demonstrating intent and I'm looking for something and I'm in research mode.
In this case with a display campaign, you're trying to sort of keep brands on that person's mind to kind of remind them that at one point they were interested or maybe tell them about a brand or a product for the first time, depending on the content of the page.
And obviously, they look quite different, right? Paid search is text-based. And this display campaign ad is very, very much a visual ad.

How Do I Know If A Google Ads Keyword Has A High Or Low Volume?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in about two minutes. I'm looking at a question here and it reads, how do I know if a Google ads keyword has a high or low volume of searches?
So that's a good question. And definitely, one that seems to lend itself to keyword research. So maybe you're you haven't built a campaign yet, or you want to add more keywords to your campaign?
Definitely. An important question to ask, is it high volume or low volume or somewhere in between? So inside of Google ads, I got to this screen by clicking on tools and settings, and I came to the keyword planner.
So definitely remember this tool and it's pretty simple to use. I've gone ahead and plugged in a couple of potential keywords that make sense for a company like Hopps, if they wanted to do paid search advertising.
So I'm inside of a demo account just to clarify. And here are the three keywords that, you know, let's pretend, I mean, I don't know anything about them.
Do a lot of people use these terms, do they not? You know, I want Google ads to tell me what kind of data it has on search volume for these things.
So, I plug them in and you could add up to 10, I believe at a time you hit get results.
And then this is the table that the keyword planner produces. It's pretty awesome. It gives you not just the keywords that I asked about, but it has given me a lot of others, you can see PPC management company, local, online marketing.
I mean, the list goes on and on, and it gives me things like the CPC and kind of a general rating on the competition.
But most importantly, when it comes to answering, comes to answering the question at hand search volume, is it high? Is it low?
This is a column you want to look at average, monthly searches, average, monthly searches. So, you can see it gives you ranges.
And yeah, I can let you know. I mean, is it just between a hundred searches and then a thousand?
Or is it, is it way more than that? The last couple of things I'll note here are you can change the date range that Google looks at when it produces an average monthly volume number.
And you can also reduce from, you know, an entire country like the United States down to specific States and cities if you so choose.

How Do I Set Up An Automatic Daily Budget Reset Function In Google Ads?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. The question we are answering today is how do I set up an automatic daily budget reset in Google ads?
So to do that, there's a tool called automated rules. And to enable that select the campaign that you want to update, edit, create an automated rule Name, the role like daily budget change, select the action that you want the rule to do, which has changed budgets.
Change the average daily, set a new budget and specify the budget amount, check that it's selecting the right campaigns to make the change to, and then specify when you want the change to occur.
So it can be daily. It can be weekly, monthly, or a one-time change, Preview the rule to make sure that it works correctly. And then save the roll.

How Do I Know The Exact Time Of Conversion In Adwords?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. The question we are answering today is how do I know the exact time of your conversion in Google ads?
So the short answer is you're not able to get the exact time of a conversion Google ads, but what you can do through the reporting is identify the date of the conversion and hour.
The conversion occurred based on the time zone settings in your account. So easy way to do that is to just go to their report builder.
And I'm going to build one from scratch. So, what you want to do is first add your date dimension. So I'm going to add the day and hour of the day.
Yeah. Okay. Now, an important thing to know about Google ads is when a conversion occurs, the default conversion metric is reported based upon the date and time of the click, not the date and time of their conversion.
So if you're using a standard look-back window of 30 days, someone could have clicked on your ad. Let's say, a week or two ago, and then converted, Google will record that conversion to the date of the click, which would have been one to two weeks ago.
So what you need to do instead to view the date of the conversion is pull in a different metric and it's called conversions by conversion time.
And they also have a conversion value in all conversions. These are conversions that are not being tracked as a account level conversion.
So, this allows you to then pull a report that has the date hour of day, and then the conversions by time, which is Google's metric of measuring the conversions of the date and time that they occur down to an hour level.
So, this is about as accurate as you can get with the exact time, if you needed a higher level of accuracy, you could also run a similar report like this in Google analytics which will get you down, which has E dimension for the minute.
The only difference is Google analytics well could attribute conversions to other channels. So, you might, so it uses a last non-direct click attribution versus Google ads.

How Do I Automate The Creation Of Text For Ads?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked digital marketing questions in about two to three minutes.
The question I've got here is how do I automate the creation of text for hats? So, this pertains to Google ads, and that is where I am right now.
So, I'm inside of a demo campaign and I'm inside of a demo ad group and I've clicked on the ads tab.
So, I actually want to, for the purposes of this video, I'm going to go ahead and just create an ad from scratch.
And to do that, I hit this blue button right here. I'm going to hit a responsive search ad. So, I think this is pretty cool and it's pretty useful.
This just comes standard these days with Google ads. This is not, I mean, this is pretty close to complete auto-populating of, of a text ad.
So, the question is about how do I automate the creation of the text? Well, you can actually do that just inside of Google ads.
You don't necessarily need a third-party tool. Google ads have gotten pretty sophisticated and they really want to try to automate a lot of steps for you.
So you can see, as soon as I hit this screen, all of these fields are populated. And how does it know what texts to pull in, where you can see?
It says the suggestions are based on your final URL and other ads in your ad groups. So that goes for the description lines and then appear for the headlines.

I mean, there it's, I mean, this is pretty cool. Google ads give you plenty of suggestions right off the bat.
Once you've got an ad group created, it fills in the text for you. It's looking at the URL that you've input as the destination for your traffic.
So, I mean, this is a super handy way to create some, some good ads quickly. Just make sure you double-check Google ads make sure the text that it's put in these fields makes sense, right?
I mean, you, you need to be proofing things before you publish these ads and then set them live. All right.

What Is Quality Score And How Do I Improve It?

And today we're going to talk about how to improve your quality score and what does quality score really means? So quality score has several different ranking factors.
So some of those might be the actual keywords within the ad group that you select. So for example, Google likes to see tightly themed ad groups of somewhere between 15 to 20 or 25 keywords that are all closely related to each other.
In a theme of a sort, they're also looking for your landing page experience, coupled with what the keywords you're trying to target are the bid.
For example, if you're using the manual CPC bid strategy or the dollar amount you're willing to spend on that particular cost per acquisition return on ad spend, whatever that strategy might be, as well as your ad copy.

How Do I Organize My Google PPC Keywords?

So, the question I'm looking at right now is how do I organize my Google PPC keywords? That's a great question.
It's obviously related to Google ads. Pay-per-click advertising I'm inside of a demo account and I am on this ad groups tab.
And the reason I'm here is that ad groups are the answer. Ad groups are how you organize your PVC keywords.
You need to create an ad group, basically for each distinguishable topic. So, in this case, I've got, let's ignore this demo ad group, these other two website designs in Google ads help.
You can see, these are two clear two clearly different categories. Thus, they need to be separate. And the keywords that go with each topic, they're going to live in, in these ad groups by themselves, right?
So, you don't want to combine two, these two ad groups and have all the keywords mixed together. It's not good for various reasons, including performance.
Let me click inside a website design and show you some of the example keywords that I've, that I've put in here, just to give you a clearer idea.
So, things like web developer, service website, designer, Dallas, you know, website design company. So those all fit the theme, right?
And then I'm going to go into Google ads help, and we're going to, we're going to see the same thing.
It's just going to be a different topic. So, everything that ties back to the theme, Google ads, agency help a couple of other ones.
So, at the end of the day, the best way that you can organize your PPC keywords is to think about ad group structures, stick to your ad group themes.
Only put keywords that match the theme inside of an active group. And that's how you are going to build, some productive campaigns.

How Do I Force The Platform To Lower Bids During The Morning?

 Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions and about two minutes, the question that I have in front of me today is how do I force the platform, meaning the Google ads platform to lower bids in the morning?
So you do that from this tab right here, ad schedule. So I'm inside of my demo account. I've created it just for the purposes of this video.
Um, just some sample ad scheduling. You can see I've created, um, and by ad scheduling, I mean, you know, kind of a calendar and which the ads are going to run.
So basically the way you use this to lower bids strategically at certain points during the day, or, you know, for multiple days during the week, you create time blocks and you can see this one right here is every Monday from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
So for that time block, if I want the platform to lower bids, I come in here under bid adjustment, and I just do decrease.
Let's say I'm pretty serious about the platform lowering bids during this, um, you know, these early hours in the morning, let's say plea, you know, I can, I can do like a 50% decrease or,  even more aggressively, 75%, whatever you want.
So you hit save and, and really that's it. And if you want to select multiple, obviously you tick multiple boxes and you can use,  this edit option here at the top, change that adjustment.

How Do I Optimize Average Session Duration And Eliminate Irrelevant Traffic? 

Hi, and welcome to Hopps help where we try and answer all your frequently asked questions in less than two minutes. Today we're going to be going over how to eliminate low-quality keywords with low time on site and eliminate irrelevant keywords in general.
So first, we want to make sure we look under tools and settings and then make sure that you are importing top site time on site.
So if you go to LinkedIn accounts and then you go check on Google analytics and check on the account and make sure you're importing site metrics, then you'll be able to see your time on-site for all your keywords.
So then if you go to the keywords tab, then you look at all the time, you could see your time on-site for keywords.
So for landing pages, I try and look for time on site to be 30 seconds or more, and for full websites over 60 seconds.
So then I pause keywords that have time on site, less than 30 seconds. If, if they're over, if they're a single landing page, so it doesn't look like there are any keywords here doesn't necessarily pause, but I could see that the term digital drew has an average of 125 seconds or more.
So then what I could do is find other keywords that looked like that keyword and add those to the account so I can add them and I'd recommend adding them as phrase match keywords.
So then you could put quotation marks and bid on other relevant terms, like the term that is performing really high.

How Do I Target A Location For A Local Service Looking For Customers To Visit?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in about two minutes. The question I've got in front of me here today is how do I target a location for a service that is local only, but it's also looking for customers to visit them?
All right. So Google ads do have a feature that is, very much in line with this question. So I'm inside of my demo campaign hereunder settings, and you can see I'm in the geo-targeting section of settings.
I'm going to center this on this screen so you can see it says, so I've already got Austin, Texas for this campaign right hereunder target.
I've got this selected presence or interests. So this means people that are actually present in Austin, Texas, but also people who have shown interest in Austin, Texas.
So if I have keywords about a pizza restaurant and I'm targeting Austin, but I've got this presence or interest radio by, selected the next it means, okay.
People within Austin shore, if they're searching for a pizza restaurant, those are the kinds of searches that I can be eligible for, but also,  people that are injured in Austin, Texas, and going to a pizza place when they get to Austin like on vacation, you know, I'm going to show to those folks as well.
So that's basically how you address that. It's, you know, you're, you're staying,  you're a local business. You're going to advertise to people in Austin.
You know, choose your keywords carefully because, with this setting, you can appear to other people out there that do want to go to Austin and go to a pizza spot when they're there.

How Do I Maximize The Advertising Investment Within My Monthly Budget?

Hello and welcome to Hopps help, where we try to answer all your frequently asked questions in under two minutes, today I’m going to be answering how to get the most investment on your monthly google ads budget? so the most important thing is keywords and making sure that the keywords that you're paying for are the most relevant so under keywords I go under search terms and this is what somebody is actually searching for in google that is triggering your ads so typically I go through this on a daily basis and add and block keywords based on relevancy so for instance the keyword humanities and university do not make much sense so I’ve excluded this query specifically but then I also want to add some of these keywords as negatives to make sure that I don't show up for them again so for instance humanities and university are not things I want to show up for so then I add quotation marks to block them as a phrase so that way anyone who searches either of these keywords will never trigger one of my ads so that way they're blocked so that way I can make sure that keyword the keywords that are relevant show up more so if I like a keyword and say oh this is relevant I would do the same thing but add it as quotation marks and add it to the account so that way I’m bidding on it more another thing I like to do is continuously block or pause low performing keywords. So I set up a filter of high clicks no conversions and low time on-site and then I’m quickly able to pause low performing keywords so by adding keywords that are relevant blocking keywords that are irrelevant and pausing low-performing keywords you can continue to have the best performing account, thank you for watching this video and if you want more one-on-one help go to https://app.hopps.io/session/create.

How Do I Duplicate The Content Of A Campaign In Google Ads Editor?

So, to do that, that's fairly simple. Make sure you're at the campaign level view, select the campaign or campaigns. You can duplicate multiple campaigns at the same time right-click to copy or use the keyboard shortcut, and now paste the campaign is now duplicated.

How Do I Manage Target ROAS / Maximize Value With A 30-day Sales Cycle?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps, help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes, the question we are answering today is how do I manage a target row as, or a maximize value bidding strategy with a longer sales cycle, such as 30 days or longer?
So, by default what do you want to do is change the settings of your conversion, right? So, if you have a longer sales cycle, let's say over 30 days, and the default looked back window on a Google conversion is 30 days.
You won't be capturing all the conversions. So the way to fix that is to edit the settings of the conversion that you're tracking, and you can change the click-through window or the view do window, which is the number of days that I will look back and attribute conversions up to a maximum of 90 days.
So you'll want to align this, look back window to the length of the sales cycle that you're trying to track, okay.
