We have the demo Google Analytics account provided by Google open right now. And what you'll notice is that on the left-hand side, I have a predefined set of reports.
And the category that we're in right now is the audience. This is opening up a whole bunch of different reports, that are actually going to cloud our ability to find the report that we really want.
So if you have any of these sections open, what you're going to want to do is you're just gonna want to click up here at the main category, which is the audience in this case.
And we're going to go ahead and close that that'll go ahead and streamline this view. Now what we want is we actually want to go to behavior from behavior.
We'll find behavior flow, only two options down, and this is exactly how you would access your behavior flow within your Google Analytics account.

How Do I Block Bot Traffic From Analysis?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. My name is Frank, and the question we're answering today is how to filter out bot traffic within Google analytics?
Once we log into our Google Analytics account, I'm actually logged into the demo account, hosted by Google. I'm going to go ahead and move my little avatar here into the center of the screen.
What you're going to want to do is you're going to want to go to the admin section, which can be found in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.
You're also going to want to make sure that you're an admin on your account in this particular case, I'm not an admin on the account, but I can still show you the setting that you're going to want to update from here.
You're going to get three different columns. If you will. Our account column, our property column, and our view column, we're actually going to go ahead and alter the view settings in order to filter out this bot traffic.
So once we come to view settings here, we can scroll down and you'll see that there's actually a very simple check box.
That'll allow us to exclude all hits from known bots and spiders. And once you select that checkbox, you'll just scroll down and you'll click done.
And now you filtered your Google analytics account from bot traffic, or at least that particular view. I hope that helps.

So, setting up a new view is very easy. Click over into the admin menu, and you should see a button to create a new view here.
If you don't see that it means that your account doesn't have the correct privileges. And so, you need to change your user settings and make sure that you have edit or admin access to the property that you want to create a new view in.

So the reporting and Google analytics are a little bit different. And the way to pull that event by specific pages is to open up the analysis menu and then the analysis hub.
From here, you can create a custom report. And what you'll want to do is add in the event as a dimension and then search for the page URL or a page title, whatever page dimension you want to use.

So, to find the users, it's actually a very easy number to pull. So, from the home page, this number right here is actually the number of users.
The second place you can look at it is under audience and overview. And this will give you some more detailed metrics about the users, such as the total number of users, as well as new users, and a breakdown of the percent of new versus returning.
Now be careful. So, when you're looking at this report, the data here is going to be tied to the segment above.
And so, if you need to pull total users across the site, you want to make sure that the segments up here are empty and it's reporting out on all users.
So, you can see how the number went up quite a bit. And in this date range, there were 15,064 users Hope that helped.

How Do I Analyze The Behavior Of Specific Audiences?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. The question we are answering today is how do I analyze the behavior of specific audiences in Google analytics?
So, to look at the behavior of specific audiences within the Google Analytics reporting, you can either we're going to use what's called a segment.
And so, you can create a new segment. One of two ways. You can either add the segment through here and then click on this button to create a new segment, or there's also a menu and button to do that in the admin settings.
Since we're already here, I'll click on the new segment. And nowhere is where the audience is defined. So, there are already pre-built definitions for demographics, technology, behavior, data, first session traffic sources, enhanced e-commerce conditions, as well as sequences.
If you, if there were different steps that you wanted a user to take most of the time, what you want to use is the advanced conditions, because this allows you to do any of the segments above, but also to add in additional conditions.
So, for example, if I wanted to look at that the segments that came from organic search or came from paid search, I can now create a new segment of portal traffic from search.
And once that segment is saved, I can now view all of the reports using this segment. And that's how you analyze the performance of the audience.

How Do I Exclude The Traffic And Data Of My Website Visitors Who Visited A Previous Page?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. The question we are answering today is how do I exclude the traffic and data of my website, visitors who visited a previous page?
So, the easiest way to do that is to set up what's called a segment, and that can be found by navigating to the admin menu and under personal tools and assets clicking on segments.
And so, we'll create a new segment, Go Down to the advanced section for conditions. Now we want to select the page dimension, and this is where You can define what pages you want to exclude.
So, we'll say anyone that visited the homepage. Yeah. Now this will pull all the sessions that visited the homepage. So, we want to change this up here to exclude, and now we want to exclude users.
And so, we'll change this from sessions to users, name, the new segment users who visited the home page. All right.
So now if you go back to the reporting, Now adds the segment that was just created and applied that to the report.

How Do I See The Organic Traffic In A Specific Period Of Time?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. My name is Frank, and the question we're answering today is how to see organic traffic in a specific period of time.
In Google Analytics, you can see here that we're in the Google Analytics demo account, um, hosted with the Google merchandise store.
Now I'm located in the home section. You could be anywhere in your Google Analytics account right now. What's going to be important to note that all of these different report options over here are collapsible.
So if you have any of them open and it's making it difficult to see, just go ahead and collapse all of them except for acquisition, because this is the report that we want in order to see our organic traffic.
Now there's a variety of different ways that we could do this, but I'm just going to show you one, that'll make it really easy.
We'll select all traffic, and then we'll go to source mediums from source medium. This will give us a lot of granularity into what is organic and what is not.
So after we get to our source medium report, we can actually go ahead and alter our date range ahead of time by clicking in the top right-hand corner and just selecting exactly what dates we want.
I went ahead and selected the last two dates or the last two months from this particular date. Um, but you can say yours to whatever it is that you need from here.
Um, we can actually just go to the search bar and we can actually type in organic. And if we do that, we will have automatically sorted all of the different organic search engines for us.

How Do I Know The Participation Rate In GA4?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. My name is Frank, and the question we're answering today is how can we gauge engagement in Google analytics by page?
So this is a really popular topic right now because the new Google analytics for accounts do not have bounce rates.
So Google has decided to retire that metric because it paints an impression and there's a lot of contexts that has to be added to make the impression make sense.
But what we have instead now is the engagement rate. And so if we take a look at our Google analytics for the count here, and we come over here to the left-hand side underneath our life cycle, we have engagement and engagement is going to open up a whole, a whole bunch of beautiful reports for you.
We'll go ahead and go to the overview first because I think that this is a great place to start. This will actually allow us to see our average engagement time engagement sessions per user and an average engagement time per session.
So some pretty useful metrics, but if you're trying to get information by individual pages and you want something a little bit less aggregated, we can actually go to pages and screens over here on the left.
And then if we scroll down past this bug report, we'll actually be able to see here that page title and screen class will show us essentially what pages on our website by their title were visited.
And then also now we get these similar metrics and sometimes even very specific metrics if we're tracking them on our website.
So this is how in the new Google analytics for an account, you want to measure user behavior and your engagement rate, as opposed to the old way of bounce rate.

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. The question we are answering today is how do I generate additional parameters to the basic ones of the UTM that are read by GA or Google analytics without breaking the UTM?
So, let's take a look. So here is a website link with the UTM parameters upended at the end. So, we have a UTM campaign, UTM source, UTM, medium UTM term, and UTM content.
Now by itself, these UTM parameters cannot be broken. So, Google analytics will read the values of these parameters. And these are all of the available UTM parameters that Google will look for.
What you can do is if you want it to pass through different data, into a different platform, you use the emperor Stan, and you can name the parameters, whatever you want.
So, this could be a parameter, one value, one, add another emperor. Stan could be programmed to your value to now by itself.
If you're using these to track something, Google analytics is not going to read those additional parameters. There is another, you know, depending on what platform you're using, there's going to be specific parameters like UTM for Google analytics that you'll need to use.
If there are additional data that you want to pass through into Google Analytics, you just need to customize the value that's being upended at the end of each UTM parameter.
So, if I wanted to change the value and pass more data into the campaign name, then I can put it in different words here.
And usually, this will be something that is dynamically pass through. So, it might be a keyword and there are different values like this for ad platforms or any other source that you might be using.

So, step one is to change from brands, Two pages, and events, the next step. She then selects the page that you want to look at.
So, let's say the page I want to look at is a basket. Okay. And there you go. So, here's the page.
And now these are the top pages that were viewed immediately after this page. And that's how you pull the data.

So, to do that, any of the default reports can report out on visits per hour. I'm just going to run a channel now that they mentioned that you want to pull in order to look at visits per hour, his hour of day dimension, and this will give it to you in the format of year, month date, and then an hour.
And the hour is on a 24-hour clock. So that's how you view any of the reports in an hour.
And if you want to be able to export that, you can also build a report where the metric you'll want to look at is sessions.
And the dimension again is the hour of the day save the report. And now this will give you export in a flat table.
