Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. My name is Frank, and the question we're answering today is how to filter out bot traffic within Google analytics?
Once we log into our Google Analytics account, I'm actually logged into the demo account, hosted by Google. I'm going to go ahead and move my little avatar here into the center of the screen.
What you're going to want to do is you're going to want to go to the admin section, which can be found in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.
You're also going to want to make sure that you're an admin on your account in this particular case, I'm not an admin on the account, but I can still show you the setting that you're going to want to update from here.
You're going to get three different columns. If you will. Our account column, our property column, and our view column, we're actually going to go ahead and alter the view settings in order to filter out this bot traffic.
So once we come to view settings here, we can scroll down and you'll see that there's actually a very simple check box.
That'll allow us to exclude all hits from known bots and spiders. And once you select that checkbox, you'll just scroll down and you'll click done.
And now you filtered your Google analytics account from bot traffic, or at least that particular view. I hope that helps.
