How Do I Configure So That My Real Address Does Not Appear On Receipts And Invoices?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. My name is Alison and I have to answer a question today about Shopify, about how to change a display setting.
Basically, a privacy issue that some people have an issue where their business is based out of their house and they don't want their physical address everywhere on the internet for people to see Shopify, doesn't make it a quick switch that you flip to alter that setting.
So instead, we do have a workaround that we're going to show you really quick here in settings. We're just going to hop into here.
I don't know why it's loading like that today. So, you have two options here to change addresses. You have general, and you have locations.
If you go into general, this is the address that will appear on your invoice’s purchase orders and such as that, what a lot of people do is they have a separate address.
They'll get a PO box or use a different address, physical or otherwise that they'll enter in here that will appear.
So that will give you some level of privacy there. What you do need to also have though for your shipping carriers is your physical address of where you're actually fulfilling your orders, which generally if you have a home-based business and this is your issue, this is where you'll be doing that.
You will go into here and you will add a location of where your carriers are actually picking up the orders or where they're being fulfilled from so that they can calculate shipping rates and whatnot.
And that's it. Those are the two spots you need to go into and remember, again, settings in general, your store address.
That's what will appear on your invoices. And the actual physical location can then be separately saved in the location section that will be private and not out there for everyone to see.
