What Is A Conversion Event?

Hopps Team

Hey there. Welcome to Hopps help where we answer commonly asked questions in two minutes. The question for today is what is a conversion event? So, where we start here is on the ad set level. So, as you can see, I'm on ad set, number three, and my test conversion campaign. So right down here under the conversion section, you'll see that I have a pixel and what's called the conversion event. So, think of the pixel as the main tracking source that you have to install, or you don't have to, but you should install it on your website or wherever you want to send traffic to that way it can gather and collect data from the traffic that you have sent. So, what a conversion event is essentially is what you create on the backend as what an event is. So, let's say that you are a company in the Southern California area, and you want to go ahead and get small, small businesses and to opt into your website because you're doing a free security audit, for example. So, you set an ad out and now they all go to your website, which hopefully you have a pixel installed. And then from there, you can go ahead and track all that data. And then, so let's say that you have it set up to where if they opt-in, they give you their information to, to learn more about what you have or to do the actual audit. Then that will be considered a lead, for example, in which I would go ahead and go to the conversion event and go to, I would find leap that if that is how I have set up for e-commerce, for example, I want to set a campaign to do, to have people add to cart. So, this is telling Facebook that okay, for this ad set, number three, I'm going to go ahead and get the most people I think will add to the cart. They might end up purchasing. They might not end up purchasing it doesn't matter because I'm testing for the add to cart and not for the purchase. So now, if I want to go ahead and test for the purchase, I'll go ahead and go to the purchase if that's how I have it set up on my backend. So, I hope that helps if you need one-on-one help with Facebook ads, just hop into Hopps at to work with a live expert today, have a great day.
