How Do I Automate Extensions Based On Upcoming Activity Dates?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in about two minutes. The question I'm looking at here is how do I automate extensions based on upcoming activity dates?
So you're going to come here to the extensions tab inside of your campaign and I'm going to go ahead and hit the blue button to create a new extension.
And for the purposes of this video, I'm going to choose the promotion. So obviously You would fill, let's say this is applicable to your campaign.
You want to run a promotion, uh, during a certain time window, you would fill these fields out. You know this is essentially how it's going to appear inside of your ad, the most important thing.
So, first of all, I'll actually, I'll start here. You can see there is kind of a date range picker, right?
Start date, end date. These are the dates that are going to show up right here in the extension that talk about when the sale was happening.
So this is what potential customers slash ad clickers are going to see, right? And so you can see now right here May 10th to May 17th.
So that's not the same thing as scheduling or automating the extension. You do that actually down here under advanced options.
You see how this popped out. This is where you choose the date range that these, um, are gonna are going to show during.
Um, so let's say, you know, during, we could just have the date range of maps. This is going up here, right?
So the 10th to the 17th. So what I would do is save this and then if you want to have a new promotion automatically start happening, you know, on the 18th and just the campaign roll into a new permit, uh, kind of promotion period, new extension showing I would do the same thing, but just have the date range, be the 18th, uh, you know, to whenever the promotion ends.

How Do I Improve The "Quality" Of Leads Coming From Google Ads?

Hi, and welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer all of your frequently asked questions in under two minutes today, we're going to talk about how to get better quality leads from Google ads?
So, to get better quality leads, one, needs to make sure that you have conversion tracking set up. So, if you go under conversions and you're able to track leads.
So, I have some for-book appointments, people subscribing to emails people clicking to call. So, calls, emails, all of that are considered leads.
But how do you make sure that they're of better quality? The best way is to ask the client, or if you are the client yourself and you don't feel your leads are the best.
The first place to go is under demographics. Look at age. So for instance, with me, I know that 18 to 24 year old typically are not good quality leads.
So you could go and exclude that age from the ad group to make sure that you're not showing to people too young or too old.
Another good one to exclude is household income. So, you need to make sure that you're not in a band category, such as housing or credit where you can't do this, but if you can, you can exclude for me lower household income, because I want higher-income people.
I want people who are able to pay. So that's where I exclude lower incomes to make sure my ads are showing to higher-quality people.
Another way is based on keywords. So, if you want to make sure that your keywords are the highest intent. So, for instance, if you're a high service, you might want to go under tools and settings and under a negative keyword list, block keywords, such as cheap, inexpensive, low cost.
You get the idea so you can exclude these keywords and keep them as relevant as possible. So, thank you for taking the time today.

How Do I Test The Ads Before Publishing Them To Know If They Are Accepted By Google?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in about two minutes. This question is related to Google ads and it is how do I test the ads before publishing them to know if they are accepted by Google?
So, you don't need to test your ads per se. I guess if you wanted to try to see what you could get away with, then you can create multiple ads and see if they get approved.
I think the most important thing to point out here is once you create a text ad, the review process starts right away.
And within a day or two, I think officially Google says one business day, it's going to re you know, the team over there is going to try to review the ad and see if it combines with, with its policies.
And depending on the type of vertical that you're advertising in healthcare finance those verticals can be a little bit, there could be some additional rules that you're going to have to take into consideration, but within a day, you should have feedback on whether or not your ad is going to run.
So, interestingly, I actually, created this ad earlier today. This is just a demo account demo campaign at demo ad it's focused on hops and you can see it actually gave me this non-eligible status.
And that's because you can see here, it's found a trademark issue inside of the ad. This ad contains a reference to the genius bar, which is not going to be allowed by Google.
Google actually helped me create this ad. Ironically, so I would have to address this if this were a real account and I wanted to get this campaign running and generating impressions.
So, to recap, as soon as you submit an ad, Google was going to review it and you're going to know whether or not the ad can run hope.

What To Do When An Ad Gets Fewer Clicks Than Others?

Hi, this is Theo from Hopps help and we're going to talk about what you do when you are running a Google ads campaign.
And you're getting multiple, sorry when you're running multiple Google ads, campaigns, and you are getting fewer clicks and what to do in that situation, I'm going to speak specifically about Google shopping campaigns and what to do when you kind of have that situation.
Obviously, the base, the basic thing you can do is just up your cost per click, right? However, if you're running a certain type of system, you can actually effectively do it without necessarily breaking the bank on your budget.
So, I personally run a three-tier shopping campaign system. And part of the thing that allows for me to run the system really well is I have what's called a shared budget for my three-tier system.
And I'm not going to get into the ins and outs of the settings and specifically what the three-tier system does.
But one thing that you can do as you can effectively grab you, let's say you're running a two-tier shopping campaign system.
You've got multiple shopping campaigns running at the same time. What are you going to do is grab those two campaigns and put them under the same budget?
Okay. So you can go to shared budgets under the shared library, and then you can create a budget and then apply that budget to set campaigns.
Okay. Now the reason why I bring this up is that when you have a shared budget, now you have everything tied under one roof.
And then the next thing you can do is effectively upped your cost per click within that budget. And the algorithm will understand what to do with that.
So, the next thing you're going to want to do isn't is then also up your cost per click within that tied shirt budget for the specific campaign, which's getting fewer clicks.
Okay. And on top of that, you can also do search term optimization. Now I'm running a three-tier system, which is really a filtration system where I'm filtering search terms to land in certain campaign tiers.
My one that's labeled high priority is where I would like to see generic search terms show up. So, in this case, the store is selling like wine coolers and kegerators and coffee machines, right?
So, I want to see generic search terms in this particular type of campaign. And then in my medium priority is where I want to see brand names, search terms, and then my low priorities where I want to see even more specific.
So, like brand name, product, plus product name, plus skew number kind of thing. So, with the search terms, when you S when you optimize your search terms and up your cost per click, on that particular ad, you can create the filter.
You can create this filtration system that allows for the algorithm to give you the best bang for your buck. And we'll start to send the right type of traffic to the campaign that wasn't really getting much of.
Wasn't really getting much attention to begin with. So, to give you an example here, I'm in my high priority, which is my generic campaign system, and I'm going to go to the search terms.
All right. And in the search terms, you will see here, espresso machine, super generic and it's, and it's a very generic wine fridge, large wine fridge, beer crawler, right?
These a very, very generic search terms that I would like that I'm definitely wanting to pay for, for this particular campaign tier.
Now, when I go to my medium, you'll see that my search terms are more brand-specific. Now, the reason why this is happening is that I also have a generalized negative keyword list here.
That's helping the system happened, but it's basically everything is showing up the way I want it to in my medium campaign tier.
So, check this out. We have Astro coffee, a coffee machine Kago kegerator. Well, guess what, it's literally the name of the brand of the product in here.
And that's exactly the type of search term. I want to show up, see, show up in my medium campaign. So, by upping my cost per click and doing search term optimization, you should effectively, Oh, and also tying your budgets together.
You should effectively be able to get everything together so that you begin to get more clicks into that system. And also having a negative keyword list in total is also really good as well.
So yeah, there you go, hope this answers your question. Let me go over the negative keyword list.
I have a master negative keyword list for this, right. And that negative keyword list has a bunch of different things in it.

How Do I Give Google Ads Several Funnel Steps For Conversion Optimization?

Hey there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in two minutes, the question we are answering today is how do I track final steps and optimize those steps as conversions?
So, to do that, the first step in your Google ads account is to open the conversions section and to create a conversion action.
So, this would be for a website. And the idea here is to create a conversion action for each step of your conversion funnel that you want to track.
So, if it was to say in this example in e-commerce purchase at the very high level, you might have a page view, and then you would want to track a product page view, an add to cart next step, after that would be checkout and then finally a purchase.
So, in this example, I'm going to start from the most important conversion and work my way up the funnel. So, this conversion name is purchased, and I typically like to add the conversion window.
So, let's say the standard is a 30-day click. I'm going to go 30 C for click one fee. So, 30 days click one day view and the attribution model, which I will set as a Position base.
Hey, this is where you would select different settings. And I want to count every conversion 30 days click one-day view attribution model.
And so if you have multiple touchpoints in your conversion funnel I definitely recommend using one of these multi-touch models, either linear time, decay, or position-based, or all three, if you want to be able to track everything at a glance Annular level, create and continue, And now tracking the funnel implementing it can be different depending on your setup.
I would recommend using Google tag manager, especially if you have different types of engagement metrics that you want to count as an event in the funnel, such as scroll depth or different on-page engagements, that aren't specific click examples, like add to cart or initiating a checkout.
And so, you would take this conversion ID, this conversion label, and placing it into your Google tag manager. And then there would be separate triggers that you would set up when you want this conversion tag to fire.
And it would function similarly where you would place the script. This event, the snippet would track the purchase. And this universal tag would fire on all pages.
Both this universal tag and the events snippet can easily be managed with Google tag manager. That's a bit out of scope for this video, but there are different ways to install that tracking.
So once this tracking is set up on your website and you validated it, you would see this tracking status change to verified.
So to track different steps in the funnel, you would repeat this process of setting up a conversion action and set a conversion action up for each step in the funnel.
Using the Final Setting is to check which ones you want to include as a conversion. And so, if you want to optimize to acquire and generate as much value from all the steps in the funnel, then you attract all of them as conversions.
If there are some that you just want for reporting but don't want to include in the bidding and conversion optimization, then you would change the setting here, which is include in conversions and just Check that. And that would change it at the account level.

How Do I Calculate The Profitability Potential Of A Campaign?

Hello, and welcome to Hopps help where we try and answer all your frequently asked questions in two minutes today, I'll be answering how to calculate potential profitability for a future client?
So, to do this, my best recommendation is to go to Google's keyword planner and learn a little bit about what keywords you would potentially be bidding on.
So, for me, say I'm a digital advertising agency. I could type in the best keywords, the keywords that I've been on.
So, says digital advertising agency, digital advertising company, I would do about three to five terms to just try and determine what it would be, and also make sure if the client wants to bid on a specific location with also, you want the next slide that you can influence, like where, so, you know, they're going to geotarget in a specific, specific state.
You could geotarget that specific state. So, looking at some of my core keywords, I can see potentially I would be paying between, I would say somewhere in the middle here.
So, let's say it's going to be around like $12 a click. So, if it's going to be $12 a click, then I need to figure out how many clicks I could potentially get for the client's budget.
And then also what a conversion rate would be. So, say the clients and I have a $2,000 budget, and then the cost per click is $12.
You would get around 166 clicks. Then I know that my average conversion rate is around 3% for these types of ads.
And you could go to websites like WordStream and just, or just Google it and see what is the typical Google conversion rate for my industry.
So, if I know 3%, Okay, I did calculate that I'd get approximately five leads per month. So if my closing rate is 20%, I would close one lead.
And if my average sale is $2,000, then my return would just be one. So, I'd spend 2000 and make 2000.
So, if that was me, I'd say to the client, okay, if you want to earn a two X return, you're actually going to need a budget of 4,000, not 2000.
So, a lot of it is asking the clients specifically, what is my, what is your conversion rate? What is your closing rate and understanding based on what the CPC is going to cost, how much budget you need to get more one-on-one help go to https://app.hopps.io/session/create

How Do I Set Up Better Quality Ads?

Hi, this is Theo from Hopps, and we are going to talk about how to build a very good and, cohesive Google ads system.
This actually really can turn into a 30-minute video if you really want to break it down, but I'm going to try to briefly explain a system that I use and, kind of go from there.
So, um, what I do here, what I have here is, a three-tier shopping ad system and a retargeting campaign.
Okay. Or remarketing, however you want to word it. And the reason why I have a three-tier system is that I'm running a retail store.
And, because I'm running an online retail store and I have manufacturers who might already have a presence out there both physically and, online, kind of a rapport with the people who might be buying those types of products.
What I'm going to do is I'm going to use a filtration system in my Google ads and my shopping campaign, excuse me, specifically so that I can, pay for the best search terms for the products that I'm selling.
So to give you an example,  I could go to my high priority campaign, high priority is referring to the settings for this campaign tier meaning I'm going into settings right now.
It means that the algorithm for Google is running at a campaign priority, speed of high. Okay. So when you set up these campaigns, you have the option at the very beginning of the setup process to have the campaign, have the shopping campaign algorithm run at a high, medium, or low speed.
All right. So what I'm doing right now is I am having my high-priority campaign collect generic search terms. So for example, the primary item on this particular store sells, um, high ticket saunas.
Okay. So if I go into the actual campaign, I have each ad group, one of the campaigns at the different brands that are carried for this particular store.
So now that I'm in this campaign tier, I'm going to go to the keywords and I'm going to go to the search terms.
And what I want to see is generic search terms, and here are some examples, sauna, Beryl, I'm just going to take it, but the subtle ones and barrel saunas, uh, around the sauna, right?
Cedar sauna, all of these search terms are very generic. They're just referring to a sauna or a type of sauna or the shape of a sauna right now in my next tier, that is where I would like to see brand names, brand names.
So in this case, what I would, what I ideally want to see is the name of the brand in this case would be Alico product sauna.
Okay. So it would be, it would be, uh, the search term ideally would be Alico Beryl saunas, and, um, that those types of search terms I would want to see in my medium campaign.
Okay. And then in my low priority campaign, I would like to see even more specific. So like Alico skew number or product number sauna and the search terms there.
And what I do as I run this is I have my high priority at a lower cost per click. So let's just say 10 cents.
And my medium priority would be at say 30 cents. And my low priority would be at a, say, 50 cents right now.
The reason why I have those differences is that I do want to pay a little bit more for the very, very specific search terms, because those search terms are written into Google, by people who are very likely to make their purchase happen.
So, therefore, I want to pay a little bit more, but I don't want the algorithm to go crazy running at a high speed.
Cause then I, my 50 cents could multiply into hundreds of clicks, and then I'm blowing my budget out. So I label it, label my setting that low priority.
However, I'm optimizing my clicks to pay for the best search term. Now, the best way to optimize your search terms is to go into each campaign on a regular basis, probably on a weekly basis or an every other day basis, depending on how many clicks you're getting you to go into your search firms in your campaign, and you're going to want to exclude any search term that doesn't belong.
So in this case today, everything you see here for that has come into the system today. These are all very generic search terms, and I'd ideally don't want them to show up in my, um, medium CA medium priority campaign tier, which is where I want to see my brand names.
So since these are very generic search terms, I'm going to, um, grab these search terms, select the campaign, sorry, I'm going to grab these search terms, add as a negative keyword as you saw, and then select a campaign.
And this is me telling the algorithm now that I want to make sure that these types of search terms stay in the high priority slash generic campaign tier, and then so on and so forth.
You also want to make sure that you have, have a negative keyword list attached to you that's got to just, you can ignore all those crazy negative keyword lists.
I have a general negative keyword list here that has a bunch of terms and words that I don't want at all to be, um, used, and search terms.
I don't want to pay for a search like this. Um, so this is a really good way. And again, I could go on for 30 minutes more in-depth about this, but when you have these types of, shopping campaigns going with a negative keyword list and also optimizing your search terms and filtering out those search terms, that is how you're going to set up a really robust and targeted,  campaign for, shopping campaigns.
Now, the couple that I also have a retargeting campaign, and this is technically it's called a display ad. And this ad is going out to all visitors who have previously been to my site.
They will get re-targeted via YouTube or get followed around a big one like a news article or show up in it.
Also show up in, Gmail. These retargeting campaigns are very, very powerful. So anyone who's been fish netted in from my shopping campaigns will now get re-targeted with an ad, and showing an image or a video of my products,  with a little message here.
And, you'll be able to here's an, here's kind of an example. Here are, some of the photo assets that I have.
And so what, what this is doing is it's creating a system in which, the Google ads are all working in conjunction to target certain people.
They can get clicks. If you have the right cost per click, you will be able to have any, if you have the right cost per click and the right negative keyword lists, and the right search term optimization, I'll write it together.
You'll find your target market or excuse me, your target market will find you. And you'll be able to also crush your competition by putting them, putting the names of your competitors into your negative keyword list.
And you'll be able to make a very, um, sound and quality Google ad system. You can also create what's called a text ad as well.
I'm not going to get into that now. But text ads can be helpful if you are a new brand.

How Do I Spy On My Competitors' Google Ads Keywords And Text Ads?

Hi there. Welcome to Hopps help where we try to answer commonly asked questions in about two minutes. The question I've got here is how do I spy on my competitors, Google ads, keywords, and text ads?
So Google ads, keywords, you cannot spy on competitor keywords. Um, at least there's not a report inside of Google ads that makes it clear which keywords a competitor is betting on and the same thing for the text ads.
But what you can do, there are two things I'm going to show you one if you go inside of tools and settings and you go to the ad preview and diagnosis, tool It a second to load here, you can do some test searches, you know, type in some keywords that you're bidding on.
Make sure the targeting is right, you know, device, all this stuff. And you know, maybe you can catch a competitor in this kind of simulated Google search.
So that would tell you two things, one, okay, this is a keyword. They've got some sort of keyword. That's similar to what I just put in here and they're bidding on that.
And then also you'll get an example of a type of tech stack that they're using. So that's one thing. The other thing I wanted to show you was this auction insights report.
This is a demo account, so there's no info in here, but if there was, it would have the different competitor domains listed here, uh, impression share, and going down the line, these different columns, and these would all be competitors that are bidding on the same sorts of things that I am.
But Google doesn't tell me, uh, you know, really clear-cut this keyword. They're bidding on this other keyword you've got in your keyword, plus they're not bidding on this one.

How Do I Run Google Ads Campaigns And Create An Audience For Remarketing Purposes Excluding People Who Have Purchased That Specific Product Only?

Hi, this is Theo from Hopps, and we're going to talk about how to basically target certain audiences in your remarketing campaigns or retargeting campaign.
So I'm going to hop into my retargeting campaign and, just show you here. I'm going to create a different ad group.
But first let's talk about the current ad group you see in front of you. I have a an all visitors audience going right now.
I labeled it as all visitors. So this just means any single person that's come to my website. They will get re-targeted with a Google display ad on the various Google, of platforms and availabilities outside of Google shopping.
So if I go to the plus sign there and start another ad group, I will show you where you can grab your audiences.
Now, I don't think you're able to actually do it per product, but you can do specific audiences based off of what the Google system can provide for you.
So the first thing you're going to do is come here to this point portion, you're going to go to browse and then you're going to go to how they have interacted with my, with your business.
Okay. Then you're going to go to website visitors, and now you have the option here to target all converters, meaning all people who have purchased a general visitors, right?
You have the all visitors option there. You also have past buyers. Yes  product viewers specifically and, shopping cart.
Abandoners okay. So a couple of different ways you can go about doing that, but that that's pretty much it. I just wanted to show you, show you that how you can do that, but also have these other options here.
You can create a custom audience first. You have to  actually have to create the audience. So if you wanted to get more specific to a certain type of product, I believe you can.
But you just make sure that you have to create that custom audience and you have to have some data for that audience built up first before Google can start to actually display that ad.
So my recommendation would be to go forward with, kind of, you know, targeting people who have previously abandoned the cart or have previously purchased from you.
And that should probably help generate, um, some data. And then you could probably build a custom audience off of that.
